Say Intentions (13 Feb 24)

Updated: Feb 14

I follow on YouTube Kip on the Ground (KipOTG) a chap who has an amazing ability to pass on information and his knowledge in an easy to understand way. All of his lessons on VOR's, ILS approaches, the G1000, Navigraph and using the GNS 530 and 430 plus lots more are all a must for anyone new or old to MSFS. The reason why I mention him is he inadvertently introduced me to 'Say Intentions'. What is it, well it is an ATC program that is definitely IMHO worth investigation. It is focussing mainly on VFR flying which is why it interests me very rarely do I fly IFR. But when I do I would normally prefer to use FS Hub for these flights. How it all works, SI uses the latest AI technology to interpret your speech which means unlike other ATC programs which have their merits like Pilot to ATC or FS Hub etc You can say just about anything via your headset to the SI program and it should work out what you want to do and it replies back to with very lifelike responses. Now it would warn you it is not a cheap option at £23 per month, but the developers hope that the price will reduce as AI tech becomes more common and more readily available. SI is still in its infancy in BETA mode and although they say only available in the USA it does function in the UK, but in a somewhat limited fashion. Again the developers are working on European functionality. There is another program in development called 'Beyond ATC' which I think will use the same tech, but this program will focus on IFR flying and it is not yet released. I will update you with my progress as I learn US phraseology and differing classes of Airspace etc. You can test it out free for 24 hours by signing up, or just have a listen from the home page to see what you think of it. My first flight with SI is available on my YouTube channel to see how I got on. Click on the YouTube Clips link above.

Chasing the elusive best FPS rate.

Well I do seem to have doing this sort of thing now for the past 4 years, chasing my FPS. I keep telling myself not to worry too much about it and that mid 30FPS is fine for what I need. But strangely
